I've been working too hard, bopping around the Multiverse too much, and none of it proper gigs. I came back a while ago, so drained and I'd been in so many tricky dimensions that the Little Wolf helped me set up a gig here. I needed that. I got sent out again right away and I wish I could have taken her with me.

The Humans have something a bit like the Season of Festivals on Quain, but theirs go through Halloween, Thanksgiving and then the big winter festival when they used to slaughter the livestock that wasn't likely to get through the winter, and send gifts to their neighbors. They don't live from herd to harvest any more but they kept the present-giving.

I meant to get Erynne something really good, but time passes differently in the various dimensions and it can take a mathmatician to work it out. This time I got back just as their Christmas started. I didn't get time to look around much, and the Diran PA had taken off to LA, so I just had to grab something for her and hope for the best.

The diran had talked about teaching knife-fighting in the Dojo, so I got Erynne a Jewelled Dagger. It was a disappointment. Not very pretty, and if I put a glamor on it to make it more tasteful it might make it difficult to judge the grip and range.

I wished I'd just settled for a pair of diamond ear-rings or something, but she's got the ring and my Talisman, she'll be getting bored with the stuff. I can glamor anything like that, anyway. I'd like to have taken her to one of the luxury dimensions to pick out something she'd really like, but the Zranth situation makes that tricky. I've got several ideas for nice little breaks, but after what happened last time - well, we'll see.

Packing that knife in a box with chocolate might have helped but there wasn't time. I sent the minion to get Nixi back. I need her around to shop and she's supposed to keep close in case of emergency anyway.
