Me? You want to know the biggest mistake I ever made in a relationship? You mean, apart from getting a queen who liked me and getting her killed by a mosquito because I didn’t understand about immunities and exposure? or the time I took a – no, that wasn’t exactly a mistake.
Courting a girl that was really a green energy thing that was old enough to be my remotest ancestor? (I should have taken her to dimension and introduced her to Captain Kirk. The way he sang about creatures like that he must have had a universal adaptor!) Mark you, I still wonder if that kind of life-span ran in her family.(Even if a member of a potential queen’s family is one of the targets for an emotional re-shuffle there may be a better way to handle things, but the Gig had to be over by midnight. Who gets every little thing right when they’re up against a deadline?)
Hell, there’s a hundred different ways things can go wrong if you deal with humans. They change their cultural matrixes nearly as often as I change my suits, and they re-socialise all the time!
Thinking it over, there was the time I met that one that’d just found the on-line diaries, and I said, “Sure I’ll sing for you, for a while.”
