Struggling, convulsing trying to get free, pulling some of the stems loose. Trying to shout, to call any way there is. The venomous spines are too weak to penetrate cloth, but they can pierce where the skin is thinnest. No energy to smoke away, further weakened by the venom - calling for help mentally, knowing that humans are mind-blind
The hammock has become a struggling sack that suddenly changes from camouflage navy to a vivid, noticable yellow. It collapses at one end, leaving the hanging figure feet-down, but with the upper body firmly held by strangling vines.....*
