Dream on...

There's an interesting thing - if wards will pass mojos - thrall, illusion or whatever, the stuff doesn't go one way only. If it can get out it can get in. I've been keeping a kind of lookout for Old Snaky since she infested Erynne's dreams - and especially since she drew blood.

Last night I felt Old Snaky reach out with her own mojo, trying to thrall something. When I used that to home in on her I could feel trees around her and sky overhead. Either she has enough mental discipline to "cast her own surroundings" or she's so claustrophobic now that she sleeps outdoors. She was comforting herself that the tight, smothering fabric wrapping she'd felt on the night she made Erynne bleed was just illusion.

(Firewalled against Old Snaky; and so it was, just illusion ... then. It might be an idea to keep my tricks with fabric as a little surprise for her. There could be a moment when we want her distracted, and a nice, tight, unexpected wrapping of heavy cloth could do that very nicely. /Firewall-end.)

As it was, I just sent her a dream. She'd sent Erynne dreams of being eaten alive, but I don't eat my prey, and the burnings are usually over real fast. This wasn't anything like that. In her dreams Old Snaky's own wards rose high, in glittering black and sticky walls. Then they began to tighten around her...
