At the Bull and Bush;

By the time they served the wine it was getting dark enough for me to be thankful that full moon was past. A couple of Vamps had drifted in and started to sing Victorian Music-Hall songs.

The place made a good omlette and Erynne agreed that it must be a decent enough kitchen because they named the meat. It seemed to be what they said it was, too - it isn't always.

By then the floor show was pretty good, too. Nobody does a Vesta Tilley like a Vamp who's feeling her age. The tourists seemed to agree and the place was getting really crowded - some of them were singing in the street outside, of course.

We were ready to leave, but the last singer was really worth hearing. Whatever he was, he was old enough to know all the words of With 'er 'ed Tucked Underneath Her Arm.

That reminded Erynne that our next stop would be the Tower, so we finished our wine and set off.

I was uploading my notes from the London gig, feeling bored to be back in Sunnydale for Halloween - the day the bads don't walk.

Truth to tell I was half asleep. When I heard someone at the door I thought Erynne had forgotten her keys.

So I opened the door to a bunch of small, unfamiliar demons, and I automatically cast a minor illusion so my appearance would more or less match theirs. The one in the lead said,

"Trick or Tre..." and yelped! Then the whole bunch ran, leaving a full sack on the doorstep. Suddenly I've got enough candy to fuel all kinds of fun!

I think I'll take a kilo or so of it with me for nibbles and go look for Erynne. It's a nice evening and she said they have a funhouse or something not too far away. I wonder if she went there?
