Who has had the most influence on your life?

That's not an easy question. I've learned from quite a number of .. entities, of course. I learned what not to do from watching the other operatives, if they didn't come back from a gig they were wrong! I've outlived most of them by millennium.

I've learned from other ruler-level demons, too. Look at D'Hoffryn. He's got quite a good deal, there'll always be people who want vengeance - but he even crosses up his own Minions and then he whines that he can't get good quality staff. If you give it any kind of thought you can see where most of his problems come from.

Then, of course, I hear the clients and that's a real education in how not to do things.

Now that's a question I'd have trouble answering.

How many memories should be lingering still?

When first my talents showed my family sent me out,
and I was trained to fill my starring role,
I guess that has a lot to do with how I am,
but then, the life I lead is not for all.

Now, that's got me thinking back, I guess I learned most from my first teacher, Kwurtzal. He was an immune, of course, they have to be. The singing mojo, and the side-effects, are kind of built-in, with me. I was learning how to use it and how to profit by it - and, I guess, how to survive it. Some of the customers don't like my gigs.

I got taught a lot about what not to do. I guess I was taught to think on my feet, don't get involved, get the gig done fast, get out (and get what you can out of it). Then Kwurtzal got killed in a stupid incident that he could easily have avoided if he'd followed the rules he was teaching. I was under a century, back then. It made quite an impression.

I'm not easily influenced, now I'm adult. I suspect that's a result of my training, too.
