singindemonhqI don't do anger. I do a good amused, a great cynical, a fine sadistic and more - and I don't always completely hide annoyed, or irritated - but I don't usually do anger. Not where the rubes can hear me, anyway. Not unless I need them to believe that I'm real annoyed, for some reason. I'm an actor, the audience sees what I want them to see and sometimes just a little more.
Oh, I've felt anger, denial ain't my schtick. One thing I've always been is an honest demon, but I try to bridle it when it comes. I hear the songs of the humans who did open their mouths when wrath was in their driver's seat. Humans used to say "In vino veritas", but rage'll bring out certain kinds of truth almost as surely as my mojo does. It’ll give it some twists that’ll cut like a whip, too, and poison the wounds.
The bottled kind of anger can be worse. Those who tuck it away, tell themselves they've got no right to feel it - or turn it on themselves. Those are the ones who end up as blunted, numb creatures, going through the motions of life, telling themselves they feel nothing when it's all just degrees of pain to them. Those are the ones who sing sad and burn bright.
Then there's the passive-aggressive kind that’s like a knife tucked away in hiding, waiting to be sheathed in a wound. It’s usually a sign of weakness - most of them take it out on their fellow victims instead of recognising their enemy and tackling what’s really pissing them off - or digging the rage out by the roots and seeing if it’s some leftover past battening on them or a tool to shape their future. Often it's both.
When I’m on Gigs my style is just cool and laid back. In control. Mostly, anyway.
