Hello Grant!
How are things in L.A.? Sorry to have been out of touch for so long but thingshave been a bit un-choreographed went wrong but then went right didn't quite work out as expected.
I let Erynne stay at the theater baseafter I accidentally torched her apartment when she needed a refuge during the full moon.
You may remember that you met her when she was on her way there, right before you left for LA?
Your departure left Percy and Samantha in charge of closing down your former home. By hindsight I still don't know why they wanted to obtain supplies from the army - but as humans they know their home dimension much better than I do.
They seem to have disturbed some kind of army guard-demon while this was going on. I commandeered emergency transport to get us away from the immediate danger.
We then decided to leave Sunnydale, picking up Erynne on the way. We'd cut things rather fine and had to go through a dimensional portal to escape the destruction of the Hellmouth.
This did involve allowing Percy to drive your antique Eldorado Cadillac. The damage may be mostly superficial but I don't know too much about cars. It is still moving but now looks its age.
Erynne, I'm not too happy about this letter - will you take over, here?
Unfortunately, the Hellmouth's literally coming apart
around us caused the portal to be misdirected. We arrived in an
unknown dimension with dangerous wildlife.
The computer has interdimensional capability but it had crashed
and we were unable to ascertain whether it was safe to return to Earth.
After almost three weeks of very intensive effort we were
able to get the computer working.
Once the computer was active we were able to obtain,
not only proof that that earth had survived but a professional's statistical analysis of the relative safety of some areas.
We should be returning to Earth today or tomorrow, and we'll be coming
straight to LA. We're looking forward to seeing you again.
