I spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and carefully preparing a portal-chant CDR for "Grant".
It takes some time because the chants have to be split -that is, chant a couple of syllables, turn the recorder off and do something else for quite a while, turn it on and add a few more sounds. Otherwise the portal can open and transport you.
Never just read a chant straight through, even to yourself, unless you plan to travel right there, right then.
It took a long time. Every chant was very carefully labeled, too. I eventually finished a CDR that should take Grant to almost anywhere that Erynne and me were likely to end up, (except the Quain worlds, of course.)
He'd be able to get back on his own, too, alone or in company. I had to smoke off and check out a few things, so Erynne took the CDR over, and returned his old Caddy at the same time.
