I guess it's where the heart is
Jul. 6th, 2003 08:51 amI ended up having a good homecoming. I can't believe I just wrote that! We're living in a mojoed and glamored up barn in the middle of nowhere. If Sunnydale exploded or whatever again we probably wouldn't know it.
It's a temporary base and I've argued for staying here while we're in this dimension. It's dry, roomy and there's no landlady or neighbours yelling for quiet. If Sunnydale does explode again we won't be on top of it - and as long as we've got that owl in the loft we won't have rats or anything.
The place seems disused, I don't know why. They'd left quite a bit of farm stuff down below. There's even a tractor, an uncomfortable thing that just seats one. There were a lot of things lying about rusting. Some of the stuff came in useful, when it was mojoed a bit. The thing I use as a recording desk was like an upturned rake, big enough to hold both of us once it had upholstery and a work surface.
With a few fittings it's real comfortable in here, but ... unusual. OK, we use well-water and the stream, but I've been in worse places, though not for long. Anyway, Erynne says home is where the heart is and that's the big answer to why I wanted to get back.
