Are We There Yet?

singindemonhqI'm voice recording this while driving a hired car to L.A. I may type it up later. I have a feeling that this place isn't quite the same as Erynne's original dimension, but I may well be wrong.
We left the doppleganger-dimension when Erynne played a CDR with portal-opening chants instead of the Billy Joel CD. The first track should have taken us to London, in her home dimension. Instead we were misrouted by a spell and arrived in a Watcher's apartment!
There was a bit of a confrontation with Rupert Giles. Things got easier after he sang that some of his best friends are demons and that's a status symbol for Watchers. I'm fine with that - and it's kinda confirmed by something that happened to me a few dimensions ago.
The Lamia that attacked Erynne and her clan is here. (I got the feel of Old Snaky's mind when it attacked Erynne while she slept. All the signs say it's the same one, including some very bad vibes around Sunnydale itself.)
The good guys are aware of it, and they were calling for help in dealing with it when they got us. It could work out that our enemy's enemies are our friends. (Though I'd still rather not have them get behind me with any fancy weapons. Humans have ... kind of experimental minds.)
Giles turned out helpful enough, anyway. He'd said that he sometimes worked with a lycanthrope as a member of his team. Erynne told him that she's a 'changer and warned him to tell any weres he knows to get out as far away as possible from the Lamia's range. Giles said that they'd had problems with a strange werewolf and the one he worked with, Oz, had left town because of it.
As soon as Erynne asked about somewhere to stay he said there was nowhere that could take her during the full moon! It was days before full moon when that portal picked us up. That had me wondering even more about what was going on, but Giles let Erynne use his phone to make a few calls.
Her old boss is here and so are her family - I mean they're in this dimension, not in Sunnydale. Her boss is right where Erynne left her, in L.A. at the Treasure Dragon. Their Erynne vanished a while back and they've been worried sick about her. They were so relieved to hear her voice - but I could hear the reaction right down the phone when she told Demetria about marrying me...
Anyway, I may be driving towards my future in-laws but I doubt if I'll meet them this trip. I need sleep and Demetria can't take an extra guest under these circumstances. I'll go check into the hotel that I used to use, while Erynne takes the car on to Treasure Dragon. She can use it while I smoke off to get what information I can.
Functional immortality has its limits; there's ways to kill everything I know of - and there has got to be a way to kill Old Snaky.
