It offered me a message thing that looks pretty useful - the thing that was frightening was that, according to the senders address part I had sent this to myself
the idea that somebody can send mail that appears to come from my address is frightening - really scary...
(Scary enough to make me stay on-line asking advice when the financial cost of Internet call just went sky-high - that's part of the time-out.)
What scares me worst is - I've heard of viruses that can "spoof" - they get in your addressbook and mail "from you" infecting other people - if any kind of spammer could do that, or an internet spook - "scary" and bummer" aren't strong enough words.... (I don't even know if it's possible - *shivers*)
My computer is quit4e old and I was told I needed to reinstall windows quite a while ago. I think I'm going to get expert advice and start trying to reshuffle the programming.
It's very easy to fake e-mails from anyone. There are subtle ways to know if it is a fake, or at least to get a good idea. If you really want to be sure, digitally sign your e-mail with something like PGP or GPG -- You know who
