TM 189: "Remember a time when what you said was not what you were thinking" - are you kidding?

Man, you people ask the most basic questions. I’m all about honesty, especially for you people – but think about my role in life. You think I go around telling the cast what I’m thinking and planning? I’m the longest surviving operative in the business! Do you have any idea how long I’d have lasted if I’d done that?

Why would I say what’s in my mind,
That ain’t the way, not with my kind,
The things folk say ain’t always real
In my Gigs you sing what you feel…
Lies aren’t my shtick; (but even so,
A lot goes on, The cast don’t know –)

But now I’m barely humming,
New Gigs may be in view,
With songs and dancing coming
To a dimension near you

If inspiration’s coming, I must set out soon
Till then let’s use a more familiar tune

Every single Gig, the same arrangement
I go out and check the scene,
Smoking round the cast,
To seek emotion,
Saying that I’ll take a queen,

When I’m on a Gig
the thrills look big
and no one ever knows,
When I’m just going through the motions,
Bopping through the role
Knowing that the years
can take their toll.

Dancing on my way,
Through singing strangers,
Each dimension has its perks,
Every place I go,
Has different dangers,
Need to find a way that works,

Everywhere I go’s
A different show,
And no one ever knows
When I’m just going through the motions,
Swinging through the show,
Waiting to just strike the set - and go.

All those Gigs and all those voices,
There’s been queens but so few choices,

New dimensions, new intentions,
There’s one thing I’m sure –
Another Gig, another tour.
