Theatrical Muse 238, Freudian Slip
Aug. 1st, 2008 09:01 pmI turn on the music
and bring in the fun.
Some say it don’t mean much,
When all’s said and done.
But I bring out the truth
From the depths of a heart.
Why sure it may sting some
But that’s where you start.
You start from the present
And just sing what’s there,
I may hear your pain
But then why should I care?
I may get the blame
When the truth is all sung.
Or tap-dance through smoke
When a last note is sung.
I couldn’t stand Freud
For the songs of us all
Were reduced to the words,
On a lavatory wall.
He had some good ideas,
But all for his own sake,
And where I might see Eden
Freud wanted the snake!
(If the Doctor heard that slip
He’d lose his sangfroid,
But I’ve my own ideas
Of what ailed Dr Freud!)
I turn on the music and bring in the fun
But then dancing don’t mean much to Freud.
That guy didn’t know
That it takes two to tango!
Man, that type can make me annoyed!
