singindemonhq: (sing to me)
I learned of principles called sacrosanct,
Before I learned of any modern rhythm,
The Lore, and what is Lawful to be done,
Comes from a scroll drawn far before this time.

........

Before the clever hands of man
Were put to making any neat device,
The words were writ in diamond stone,
Remember, magic has a price.

Some things are bought at devil’s rate
To ask can only take its toll,
Don’t give your heart for heart’s desires,
Or buy soul’s surcease with your soul.

The pain the hero hides too well,
Will last forever and a day,
But sung and given to the wind
The pain may pass (or so they say.)

And for the rest, well listen now,
There’s those who say that the escape,
To happiness is calling me!
Think well on that for heaven’s sake.

The cost is graved there on the scroll,
The songs may add a little spice,
But smoke is blowing in the wind,
Remember, magic has a price.
