I got Erynne away from the Watcher's place seconds before the fire fighters arrived. We could hear the trucks coming.

Erynne can't teleport so we had too long a trip to reach a doctor that I'd been hearing about. He's supposed to be some kind of crook, but, from what I hear, he's a good doctor. He saw her without an appointment - at a price.

(He knew how to test the money for illusion, too, but Erynne had our credit cards. I can't carry anything when I smoke around and that has its downside.) She insisted on staying there alone, so I waited across the road, in a bar called the Vulgar Unicorn. The trouble was, I wasn't the only customer.

My mojo peaks whatever emotion the clients are feeling at the time, then they often sing about it. (Most don't burn. Those that do take ... preparation.)

There was a vampire in there who looked really tense, so I cast the mojo to find out what she was feeling. I found out. all right - I got sexually harrassed.

It made it worse that I was still formulating a good turn-down when Erynne came in and rescued me! I guess that makes me the spoils of war, or something, (and I'd still be laughing, except that she's still in bandages from the last fight. ) It hasn't slowed her down much - just as well, we've got a lot to discuss.
