Erynne's First Portal
Jul. 29th, 2004 10:24 pmThe Little Wolf was as ready to open her first dimensional portal as anyone ever is. I drove the car slowly across the parking area as she played the chant. It sounded OK - no skips on the CD and that can be the really dangerous part of using recordings. I'd seen her check it before she hit play - and then - we went through.
I thought I knew where we were going, but when I saw the place I couldn't believe it!

Sweet, darlin'?

Date: 2004-07-29 05:10 pm (UTC)Is that warmer for you? Maybe we should look around a bit?

Date: 2004-07-29 05:28 pm (UTC)Sounds like a plan to me.
A few years back? *steady gaze* Now I thought this was supposed to be somewhere I'd seen before?

Date: 2004-07-29 05:56 pm (UTC)That's the tradition, means even the inexperienced ones get a fair chance to work it out... *Turns head*
Look at that bridge! There's a whole bunch of them on it but it doesn't seem to cross anything - and is the light catching it? or is it...? Want to go over there and see it? Or the statues first?

Date: 2004-07-29 06:02 pm (UTC)*walks toward the bridge, watching and listening*
Oooh. My.
no subject
Date: 2004-07-29 06:28 pm (UTC)*Very tempted to cast the mojo, but that could disqualify your first portal trip. Touches the material of the bridge and almost says, "Where the hell are we?" Takes a deep breath and waits for you to speak.*

Date: 2004-07-29 06:35 pm (UTC)*holds out a hand for you to take*
Working on it. But I'm in no rush to 'solve the puzzle'.
Unless you want to get out of here fast for some reason.

Date: 2004-07-29 06:46 pm (UTC)*Looks down at you,*
Oh, I'm in no hurry, little Traveler - I like the view. Nice of them to build it in your color. Shall we go on up? Looks like there's plenty to see and you may find some tales to spin, later.
It reminds me of a place I saw a few centuries back, but the Welven did portraits, too...

Date: 2004-07-31 12:04 pm (UTC)Now, this might be fun to dance on, don't you think? Maybe when we get to the top of the slope?
no subject
Date: 2004-07-31 12:07 pm (UTC)Why not?
no subject
Date: 2004-07-31 12:16 pm (UTC)*Slides hand over the rail, carefully,*
The ice is modeled around the lights, isn't it? I wonder what The Welven would think of this?

Date: 2004-08-04 04:36 pm (UTC)Suspect you've got that backward, firewalker. *evil grin* Wanna get out of this snowbank? Or do you think you're warm enough?
((OOC))
no subject
Date: 2004-08-05 11:52 am (UTC)Oh, I'm warm enough. I'm in no hurry for you to organize us a hotel room or somewhere out of this wind.
*Your own clothes remain wet from the snowball and seem thinner than they were before...*

Hotel room? Or find someplace outdoors to glamour? Those ice castles are lovely.

Date: 2004-08-05 04:12 pm (UTC)The walls are translucent as it is - easy enough to glamor so that we could see out and none of them could see in ...
