From my point of view, LiveJournal has been crashing on and off for centuries. It has a lower reliability rating than the holodecks; however, unlike the holodecks, LiveJournal has never caused any casualties.
Perhaps not directly, but people can get really hot under the collar with their flame wars in the journals.
Humans role-play there, too - I've heard that some people bet on the games. But for real, steaming frustration, you ought to see the users who put their all into some argument or learned paper or song and then they try to post it - and LJ eats it.
