I'll be a glastig. A Scottish being of folklore - a mortal woman caught between Faerie and the world of Man, belonging to neither. She's oft-times confused with the banshee in that she is thought to fortell disaster but ... that's just foolishness. In nature, she has more in common with the brownie, sometimes given to tricks but usually of a much more sombre demeanour. She is tied to sites and earns her keep by doing tasks such as watching over kine or cleaning rooms (whether you WANT them clean or not).
In appearance, I'll be wearing an under-dress of a dark olive-green silk blouse with a cotton skirt that variates from a pale olive green at the waist to the dark at the hem. My over-gown will be silver-grey, of a fabric like light-weight wool, open down the front and laced together at the bodice with hanging sleeves and a square (Elizabethan) neckline. I should wear my hair loose and hanging - but I have to cover it - with the black scarf you sent to me, held in place with a silver band that has a v at the top of the forehead and a pale green bead depending from the point of the v.
It's not gaudy (rather drab in fact). It's not something commonly known. But it pleases me.
