Just - looting, I guess...

Today was strange. I tried to do a reading with the Singer's cards, last night. It's not my skill - if it was I'd be thinking about those spreads and knowing this town is doomed. Afterwards, I was thinking about what it might be like if I have to stay in this dimension. I've been making contacts in L.A.
Today I woke convinced that Quaverell would soon send my recall. I checked my mail and there was nothing, but it didn't seem to make any difference to the feeling that this was just a gig. It would be over by the end of the week and nothing I did would matter in the real world.
I smoked into town to pick up my recorder. I'd left it plugged in to the power supply, in a vandalised shop in the Mall. I was rather surprised to find that it was still there, but it doesn't look much like anything produced in this dimension, anyway.
I met Percy outside the used car-dealers. That was deserted too. He took a Frontier, and suggested that I choose between a Mustang and a Jetta. I'd been thinking that a car would be convenient anyway, when there's something to carry.
I took the Mustang; the trick of driving soon came back to me and I just had a couple of near misses before I got it to Grant's. Then I smoked back for the Jetta.
I wasn't sure if there was room at the house, so I drove it onto the grass at the top of the coast road and just left it behind the rocks, under that over-hanging tree. Nobody else uses that road out of town anyway.
A few days later I realised that we now have more cars than people! I don't know about Percy, but once I realised I could take them, why not? There's no law in Sunnydale now.
